ADMINISTRATION

Ashley directs the WHOI Data Library and Archives and works with Jen Walton for overall management of the MBLWHOI Library. Ashley’s passion for data and reproducible research brought her to libraries, where she found a community that was engaged in the same advocacy for open science. Ashley is an expert in statistical analysis and has spent much of her career leading the provision of research data services and directly providing advanced research support, including participating in research projects as the lead biostatistician. Her work frequently brings her to the intersection of research engineering development and academic support, and she has built a depth of experience in providing comprehensive services for all stages of the research lifecycle. Ashley remains active in the broader research data community, serving on the Administrative Committee of the International Association for Social Sciences Information Service & Technology (IASSIST).

Matthew Person can answer questions about the MBLWHOI Library’s book and journal collections.  He manages the electronic resources, administers the journal licenses, and works on collection preservation issues.

Sam Porter is responsible for assisting researchers, administrators, and departments across the Woods Hole Scientific Community in understanding, assessing, and reporting impactful outcomes of research. She can answer questions about citation & bibliographic management tools, altmetrics, impact factors, Symplectic Elements profiles, and more.

Kirill’s primary role revolves around managing and optimizing the library's digital infrastructure. This includes overseeing the integrated library system (ILS), access to remote resources, management of the library discovery interface, servers, software, and hardware. He also handles cataloging of incoming material at the DLA. Beyond maintenance, Kirill is responsible for implementing new technologies to enhance user experience. He collaborates closely with library patrons and staff to troubleshoot technical issues, provide training on digital resources, and stay ahead of emerging trends in library technology.
